As a central non-university institution for science and research, the Austrian Academy of Sciences - OeAW has the task of "promoting science in every respect". Postdoc (f/m/x) in experimental exotic atom research

Your Tasks
- You will participate in running experiments on antihydrogen formation and hyperfine spectroscopy at CERN and positron beams at MBI and build up and execute new experiments at MBI, together with a group of graduate students and senior colleagues currently involved in the experiments
- supervision of students
Your Profile
- Ph.D. in experimental physics (preferably subatomic physics or a related field).
- Familiarity with the plasma aspects of trapped charged particles, positron and Positronium physics as well as with atomic scattering physics.
- Familiar with some of the following techniques: UHV and cryogenic techniques, Penning traps, detectors for charged particles like MCPs.
- Software skills are an asset, for instance for experiment control (LabView), simulation (Comsol or CST, Geant4) and data analysis (root, Python, C++)
