IT SPECIALIST (F/M/X)

Your Tasks

As an IT specialist, you will

  • assist in data maintenance and database development work for the central GLORIA database (MARIA DB). Including schema modifications, data migration, ETL processes, and integration of multiple data sources.
  • do full-stack web development using the Laravel framework (PHP, HTML, JavaScript, SQL).
  • prepare global datasets: Assist in performing taxonomic harmonization, compilation and check of vegetation data, and to link it with remote sensing (e.g., NDVI, snow cover) and climatic data.
  • collaborate and contribute: Communicate with data managers and researchers on the international level.

Your Profile

  • Experience in web-development: Javascript, PHP (Laravel); MS ACCESS skills are an asset
  • Database programming (SQL)
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Interest in the work of the GLORIA monitoring and research network.

Our Offer

We offer a working environment that includes a flexible time arrangement, place of work in the GLORIA office, located at BOKU University in Vienna and the possibility to work in the extensive international team of the unique network GLORIA. The annual gross salary for this position is € 38.948,07, according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
