The Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution in Applied Mathematics, focuses on basic research in applied mathematics, and within the Institute mathematicians from all around the globe collaborate on common core areas in mathematical modeling, simulation, inverse problems and optimization. PRAEDOC DISS (F/M/X) in Finite Fields and Applications .
(Part-time employee)
for a duration of 24 months, with a negotiable starting date.
Ihr Aufgabenbereich
The position is within the framework of the FWF-funded project PAT 4719224, “Generalized cyclotomic mappings of finite fields” led by Dr. Arne Winterhof, and is affiliated with RICAM, located in Linz/Austria.
The hired person should work on problems in Finite Fields and Applications, in particular, those related to Cyclomotic Mappings, and related subjects. For further information, please contact Dr. Arne Winterhof at arne.winterhof@oeaw.ac.at, subject PhD.
Ihr Profil
- Completed master in mathematics or applied mathematics.
- Some background in fields related to Finite Fields and Group Theory, in particular, Polynomials and Character Sums.
- First experience in mathematical research at an internationally competitive level, in publishing results in internationally refereed journals of high quality, and in giving scientific presentations at international conferences and workshops.
- Strong skills of English.
