The Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) is the largest non-university institution for fundamental research in Austria.
As part of the collaboration within the AI Factory Austria, in cooperation with Advanced Computing Austria GmbH (ACA) and AIT, the ÖAW will delegate experts to the AI Factory to advance the development of technologies and applications in the field of artificial intelligence for the partner ecosystem.
The position is located at the intersection of science, SMEs, startups, and industry and will be significantly responsible for the establishment of innovation projects and collaborations.

Your Tasks
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the AI Factory Austria’s services to users, stakeholders, and the broader public
- Establish and maintain partnerships with other AI Factories, EuroHPC Competence Centers, and related European/national AI initiatives
- Coordinate collaborative frameworks with testing facilities, Digital Innovation Hubs, and innovation ecosystems
- Organise community engagement activities such as events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing formats
- Collect, update, and analyse benchmarking data to improve the AI Factory’s Austria operations and share best practices across Europe
- Support researchers and innovators from the AI Factory Austria and partner institutions in exchanging the latest scientific methods and findings in fields such as biotechnology, manufacturing, public administration, and physics to accelerate innovation.
- Assisting business partners in effectively utilising new scientific results through targeted technology transfer activities.
Your Profile
- Experience in strategic communication, stakeholder management, or innovation ecosystem development
- Solid understanding of the European AI landscape, including initiatives like EuroHPC and Digital Innovation Hubs
- Strong coordination and organisational skills, especially for events and multi-stakeholder collaborations combined with a proactive, independent work style
- Ability to analyse and synthesise information for benchmarking and reporting purposes
Excellent communication skills in German and English, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences. - Awareness of AI ethics and Human-Centered Design principles.
- Completed university degree (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Natural Sciences)
- You are a strong communicator with a confident demeanor, who is able to present complex topics clearly and understandably, and who enjoys working independently with a high degree of responsibility.
- High level of teamwork skills

For this full-time position (40 h / week), we offer a gross annual salary of (minimum) € 51,930.76 according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Science. In addition, we offer a market-compliant overpayment depending on qualifications and experience.

- The position will be awarded for a limited period of time for the current duration of the AI Factory Austria (until June 2028). An extension beyond this period may be possible depending on future project developments.
