As a central non-university institution for science and research, the Austrian Academy of Sciences - OeAW has the task of "promoting science in every respect". Postdoc (f/m/x) - ERC Project PersCom
Your Tasks
- Develop your own research project within the framework of the umbrella project
- Assist the PI in analyzing Russian, Hebrew and Judeo-Tajik archival documents, newspapers and publications from late 19th to 21st century
- Research travel including archival and interview research and, if applicable, private and family archives
- Participation in international workshops and conferences
- Publication of two peer-reviewed articles, organization of conference with PI and contribution to edited volume
- Taking an active part in regular team meetings (Vienna)
- Contributing to project website
Your Profile
- PhD degree with excellent scores in Central Asian Studies or a closely related field
- PhD dissertation with a focus on Jewish history in Central Asia
- Excellent knowledge of Russian, Hebrew, and Judeo-Tajik
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to cooperate and to work in a multi-disciplinary research team
